[fare gone]: AC: ZRH/BSL/GVA - SJO in Economy Latitude (B class) for $570 r/t

Stumbled upon this Air Canada offer from Switzerland to Costa Rica today. While the Economy Basic fare (€350 / USD 415) is quite attractive, it's worth to pay up. The Economy Latitude fare is just about € 65 more each way and books into Air Canada's B class. Also allows up to 2x 23 kg (50 lbs) of luggage, free cancellation until DoD and free seat reservation including bulkhead and exit row.

B class on Air Canada earns 100% to 150% with many Star Alliance programs, resulting in:
  • 19,000 miles at Aegean Miles+Bonus
  • 19,000 miles at Miles&More
  • 15.900 miles at Air Canada Aeroplan
  • 15.900 miles + 2.600 PQP at United MileagePlus
  • 12.700 miles at a couple of other programs
Unfortunately, a minimum stay of 10 days applies. Anyone who doesn't want to travel to Costa Rica might be able to do some cross-ticketing. No stopovers are allowed.

Possible routings include:
  • BSL-FRA-YUL-SJO
  • ZRH-YYZ-SJO
  • ZRH-MAD-YYZ-SJO
  • ZRH-LHR-YUL-SJO
  • GVA-MUC-YYZ-LIR
  • ZRH-YUL-SJO (first leg operated by Swiss)
YYZ/YUL - SJO flights are scheduled with Boeing 787-8 aircraft. Liberia is possible as well, but a bit more expensive and flown with 737 Max.

I tried to book it with a 23h layover in YTZ, but unfortunately wasn't successful. Redirect from Google Flights isn't working, Air Canada's website doesn't allow fare selection when booking more than 2 legs. Managed to squeeze in 22h in YYZ via the regular Air Canada Search. Booking went through and the ticket has been issued within minutes.

Nice fare, FYI for any UA members, you can easily upgrade AC segments with UA Miles (I did it for a latitude fare from YYZ-FRA in Feb on the UA site and was super easy)

This page explains it:

Those cheap light fares are still available, but Latitude / B Fare are now pricing at USD 1,000.
