I'm on the same route and mine was adjusted as well...Expedia shows Economy/Business for each segment now. Not sure what that means.

If anyone talks with Expedia, would be great to learn what they say.

All 4 segments say "Economy / Coach (J Class)"
I spent 40 minutes with a very nice Expedia supervisor who spent 35+ minutes onhold with the airline, but couldn't get through.
The Sup forwarded it to their email resolutions team.

May be a false alarm. We'll see within the next few days.

Note: You can confirm your PRN here: https://www.hkairlines.com/flightPNS...t_locale=en_US but it doesn't show class of service.

Thanks for the update. I emailed Expedia so I'll see what they say. I can't tell when I call up my res on the HongKong Airlines site.

Don't think it is a false alarm. If you are flying HKG-SGN you have almost certainly been downgraded to coach for those segments.

What does show up incorrectly on Expedia site is the longhaul segments, but they also say Economy (J).

Also seeing my entire journey SFO-PVG in March as:
Cabin: Economy / Coach (J)

Looking forward to seeing a solution to this... I'm not going to China in Y.

In my case, Expedia and Hong Kong Airlines both reached out about the change from Biz to Economy for my HKG-SGN and also a time change for my SGN-HKG (but no class change here). Expedia is showing Economy / Coach (J) for everything. I'd assume this is just a system glitch with Expedia downgrading one segment of the flight.

I just tried HX chat which is a terrible system as many of you already know but I got the following message after some verification steps:
your tickets have been issued successfully and booking confirmed
yes, it's business class
I asked her to confirm our seat selection which we did a few weeks ago via chat and she did:

SFOHKG 061 17MAR 15E15F
HKGSFO 060 24MAR 17E17F
PVGHKG 231 24MAR 15E15F
HKGPVG 234 18MAR 12K15H

So.... false alarm?

Yeah I think the problem is with Expedia. Checkmytrip still correctly shows business for all segments but the SGN-HKG one. HKG-SGN still shows as business for me. Either way to be honest I don't mind flying that short leg in coach. As long as the US-HKG legs stay J I'm fine with it.

I’m interested in this as well. My flight to and from SGN has been downgraded as well. I did a search and there aren’t any business class anymore traveling to and from SGN.

Will be interested in going to TPE instead or another asian country in business class.

Great attitude.

Let's all remember that HK Airlines could have pretty easily canceled or otherwise not been as generous with us here. Let's not make these tickets too difficult for them in return for their kindness.

Got the same email from Hong Kong Airline itself and Travelocity (booked two separate tickets for two people). As long as the longer flight is still in business class, I can survive the 3 hours trip from HKG to SGN. Even though it's kind of weird as some of the posters mentioned... HKG-SGN is downgraded to Y, while SGN-HKG is still in C, even though there's a 30 minutes time change, so what's give? It's not like they're going to fly into SGN in an all Y plane and re-depart with a two class config...but then it could depends on the days/times, etc. I'm just happy to try out Hong Kong Business class for $650 a pop so can't complaint much

Expedia emailed me that they are still trying to resolved the issue.
but on the bright side....
HK chat quickly confirmed my seats that all 4 segments are Business. I checked on SeatGuru too and it's all good!

Expedia proactively emailed me about the response from HK airline. See below:

We have received your inquiry for your flight reservation with Hong Kong Airlines.

We would like to inform you that we have advocated your concerns to the airlines and according to their email response dated October 11th that they have changed the flight on November 22 for HX538 due to no available business class on this route from Hong Kong to Ho Chi Minh. They authorized us to either rebook or refund your flights without penalty.

Should you wish to proceed with these options please let us know by replying on this email prior to your departure date to avoid being penalized due to no show. Please be advised that rates and availabilities are subject to change should you wish to change or rebook.

Thank you for choosing Expedia,
Expedia Customer Support Team

My interpretation is that the we'll have to pay the fare difference...
