Same-day Turn at UIO (Quito)

Has anyone recently completed a same-day turn in Quito?

Is it similar to SJU and PTY, where you can hang out at the arrival gate if you are on the same plan that returns to the Miami within the hour?

I haven't done it, but have looked into it. IIRC the AA flights met the MCT and would work regardless.

What airline are you looking at in and out?

I did a same-day turn in UIO last year. I had a few hours so I ended up going through immigration and customs.

It is not like PTY - you cannot stay at the arrival gate. There is an international transit area, but I haven't used it so I can't really comment.

If you haven't already, you should review the passengers in transit section of UIO's website.

Love the flight that leaves 7 am to MIA. Hit Johnny Rockets for their 2x burger and milkshake and sleep like a baby

Here's the plan:

AA #939 , Depart MIA 6:50pm, Arrive UIO 9:23pm

AA #946 , Depart UIO 11:30pm, Arrive MIA 4:45am

Same-day turn. Should work IF flight #939 is ontime departure.
