For each request, please include the following information:

Departure Airport:
Miles Needed:
Required Spend or Budget:
Available Travel Dates:
Required Metal or Codeshares okay*:

For each response. Please quote the original request. DO NOT START A SEPARATE THREAD.

----

NOTE: there is not much time left in 2017, given that travel tends to be expensive around holidays. You will have greater chances of success if you have greater flexibility on travel dates and cost. If you need a lot of MQMs on weekends only for < 5 cpm it probably won't happen.

Other creative possibilities depending how many MQMs you need:
----

*"Required Metal or Codeshares" is, approximately, asking whether you need a flight operated specifically by Delta or if partner flights are ok. If you are just looking for MQMs to hit a Medallion tier the normal way, then the answer is yes. If you are doing a status challenge, the answer is also probably yes, but read the T&C of your challenge carefully to be sure (for the regular status challenge the answer is also "yes")

NOTE: some partner flights earn MQMs at reduced rates. See this chart for more info.

I'll have Gold status in 2019, but am 12,000 away from Platinum - so I'm curious if I can do something crazy on the cheap.

Departure Airport: SFO (21st to 24th) or SAT, IAH, AUS (25th - 31st)
Miles Needed: 8,000
MQDs Needed: $1,050
Required Spend or Budget: $500-$700
Available Travel Dates: Any time 21-DEC-18 to 24-DEC-18 and 25-DEC-18 to 31-DEC-18
Required Metal or Codeshares okay*: DELTA and DELTA Partners

Really need help, since I am so close to maintaining my Diamond status (my job will be unbearable without the Global Upgrade certs, since my company does not spring for business). I thought I was going to make it with an upcoming AM trip I going on Sat, 15-DEC - SFO to SCL r/t. Problem ended up being I could not find a flight that would be in I (business) fare class for both legs (limited by company budget).

I fly into SFO at noon 21-DEC-18 and am available to travel from there to anywhere - I just need to return to IAH/AUS/SAT by 23rd evening. After the 25th, I can go anywhere during the remainder of the year.

Any help is so very appreciated!

MSP last minute MR

Ugggg... I did my homework and booked my MRs - did an MSP-DTW-PVG and back last weekend. Did a Bos-MSP (V) yesterday and then another Bos-MSP in first (G) next week. I checked, double and triple checked and thought those trips would take me over. Today, it is showing as 81 miles short. I looked at the MQMs that display when you are booking and I must have transposed numbers or something.

As it stands, I need something cheap and quick to get my 81 miles before year end for GM. I noticed they have an Elevate Status and I was going to look into seeing the cost to elevate to Platinum once I get gold.

Departure Airport: MSP any date btwn now and end of year except 17th, 25th, 30th with fast turn around
MQMS needed 81

Required Spend or Budget: As cheap as possible!
Available Travel Dates: Any time Dec 14-18, 20 thru 23, 26 thru 31.
Required Metal or Codeshares okay*: DELTA and DELTA Partners

DANG 81 Frickin' miles!

If you are willing to fly China Eastern: Dec 28 - 30, SFO-HKG, $1168, about 14,000 MQMs, bookable on Expedia

Delta, Dec 28 - 30, SFO-JNB, $1573, about 22,000 MQMs, requires overnight in JNB

Hi Sparksals,

I am a newbie and I do not know how cheap you want, but you could do MSP -> DET Dec. 28-29th, $203. If you really wanted to go cheap, you could do the 8pm flight arrive at 11:46pm on he 28th, spend a rough 7hrs in the airport, and then head back at 7am. Use the below link with the google flights url before the '/'.

/flights#flt=MSP./m/02dtg.2018-12-28.MSPDTW0DL427*/m/02dtg.MSP.2018-12-29.DTWMSP0DL1650;c:USD;e:1;a:SKYTEAM*SKYTEAM;sd:1; t:b;sp:2.USD.20240*2.USD.20240

Since you need $1050 MQDS, the only real way to get that at the budget you want is to fly on a partner airline. SFO would be the best bet but your time in SFO is very limited - basically one day.

Flying from Texas to Hawaii should get you the miles you need but it will be in the $1100 price range in order to get the MQDs
e.g. Dec 28-29, SAT-LIH, $885 (BE)/$1104, 8800 MQMs

Do you have a Chinese visa?

Hi Canuck - No, I do not have a Chinese visa - I do have Egyptian and Kazakhstan visas. If the IAH/SAT/AUS airports are limiting, I could also use miles after Dec. 25th to get to a better departure airport.
