Meh, most tickets are non-refundable. That doesn't mean you lose your money; you will just have to pay the $275 change fee to apply the value of the ticket to another ticket.

Just put 2x YYZ-LHR-MAD on hold for next Feb over the Family Day weekend in Ontario - $570 USD. Plan to upgrade using miles on the longhaul - BA.com shows availability. May stay in MAD, may bounce off to someplace even warmer!

well, I elected to put one on hold YYC-LHR-MAD. even though it raised the cost by $300USD or 1cpm credited to AS (5.something versus 4.something) I elected to start the ticket in YYC, because it is cheaper and easier to position to than YYZ.

total cost was $867, again pricing the same as regular old Y.

thanks OP for posting this deal, it is a good one. i wish i could find the time to book a 2nd ticket.

otoh, it is kinda inspiring that someone who just awoke from a 20 year coma sought out and found a FT thread immediately upon waking.

lol--You're welcome.

I just wondered what the specific reasons would be for not calling the airline, that's all. And the fact that the glitch is still alive and it hasn't been blasted by Secret Flying speaks well of the integrity of this group.

I wish I could squeeze in a second trip!

calling in can alert airline's pricing department to nice deals.

thanks again for posting it. the fact that it is not straightforward to book and "looks like a Y fare" might give it legs. I won't take advantage of this one, but it's great to see deals regardless.

If this holds up and ends up being upgradeable, it will be one of the best deals in the system, even with the inconvenience of positioning to Canada. My wishful thinking is it survives long enough to book into Spring and Summer 2017.

Has anyone figured out if this posts to a W fare on British Airways yet?

if you are crediting to Alaska MP, BE CAREFUL. MP doesn't play well with codeshares, even if it's involving other partner airlines. Check the range of accepted flight numbers beforehand.

this is an AA W fare. Are you asking how this will credit to Avios?

No, I'm wondering it it comes up at a W fare in the BA flight system, or if it gets ticketed as a lower class PE fare (E/T)
