When BA cancel a fare, without explanation, yet still charge the credit card, I suspect it is BA in the wrong. We all know that sale fares exist ex-Europe for BA and other carrier flights. Why BA chose this course of action is simple. They are arrogant and think they are untouchable.

I've got a website.

I'm putting up a big "SALE" sign on it for electric fans.

I'm offering the premium electric fan version of a brand which everyone knows is just around as good as the regular electric fan version from competitors (QR..) for about that price.

You're buying my "Premium Electric Fan"

I let you chose delivery date and colour.

I'm charging your credit card.

I cancel your order.

I do not inform you that I cancelled your order..

I might keep your money for a while..

So, who is cheating who?

Except there was no big 'sale' sign in this case.

If there had been... different story. BA's 777 fare on the 777 to Seoul for example. No grounds for arguing 'mistake' in that case.

I'm guessing everyone who bought one of these fares probably also knows that they've been cancelled. Doesn't it work both ways? If we're quick enough to find it and jump on it, then we're also savvy enough to know when it gets cancelled as quickly.

Apart from the very large signs on BA's page at the time about a "SALE" and "THE WORLD IS ON SALE"...

Fare basis being "XXXSALE" can't be a coincidence as well.

That's absolutely true. Unless of course you're a frequent visitor to a website where people are posting about how the premium fan is mispriced and they're telling you to get your fan ordered now as the price is wrong and the offer won't last when the retailer realises he listed the price wrong. If that were the case you'd have attempted to take advantage of an obvious mistake. The mistake being obvious because you'd been told by other people that it was a mistake and had entered into the contract in the knowledge of that mistake.

It was clear as water on their site that "seats may be extremely limited at the prices quoted" aka a "good sale".

So is BA actually gonna mail us about this one?

The money has now been taken from my CC and I'd like to either hear about my ticket or get my money back!

They are certainly dragging their feet on this one. Maybe the correspondence department is off for the weekend...

According a customer service representative in GCH hotline in the U.S. an email for the cancellation has been forwarded.

I know he was misinformed because I have 5 bookings cancelled and I have not received any cancellation email for any one of them

I booked this f fare to kul believing it to be a promo

The last time i booked and flew ba to kul was aug 1 1990. The plane was used to ferry uk military personnel into a live fire war zone in Kuwait and i was detained as a hunan shield hostage in Iraq for 131 days

I assumed that the recent 25th anniversary of the event was thecreadon for this promo were several germans were taken hostage as a result if BA acting as a quasi military transport on behalf of the UK government

I look forward to traveling to kl or orherwise arguing this in court and the wider media should Ba now cancel my ticket for, presumably, speaking out recently on this.
