There are a few charts for depending when you travel. For this MR, they should all fall under the last chart (linked above) which states within S America s,n,q,o,g,a earn 100% if international. If you are flying within Brazil, then yes, I believe it would only earn partial mileage.

US to South America is always 100% AA, but intra South America is 25% on some fares, which was not the case in this sale, I saw B and Y fare on intra flight which will earn 100%.

LAN site allows for seat changes but not for requesting of special meal or entering of FF#.

That is incorrect. It states that flights between South American countries on an O ticket are 25 %. All other intnl fares are 100%. I flew just this fare under this same mileage structure, and I got 25% for LIM IGU. I won't press the point, though, folks will get what they get.

From recent experience, after calling LAN, waiting for the options as I do not have a LANPass #, and pressing 4 for "other", it took less than a minute to speak with a LAN agent. Called last night and early this morning.
