Need 9,059 mi on DL out of ATL
I used to think I was a savvy traveler 
Not any longer...
Due to poor planning I'm 9K short of Platinum this year. I've looked at several routes to get the miles (including LAX-IAH via ATL or MSP) but can't find anything under a grand.
I'm willing to go to another city first to get the MR done (figure I'll just use miles to do that then pay for the MR fare, if that makes sense).
Any thoughts/suggestions?

JFK-NRT-TPE-NRT-JFK is $689 out 28th return 30th. It may be worthwhile to check various mainland cities to HKG, TPE, ICN, HNL, and OGG.
