Minus 6 hours or so at the LAX Marriott I was on planes or in airports that whole time.

Hi, may I ask what was the purpose of this? you seem like someone who knows what they are doing, but I see AA gold and DL silver in profile
what did this get you?
tks

This was back in 2004 when United had a promotion that if you flew a V fare or higher from the US to Europe, they gave you 3x redeemable miles. So paying $700 for a PHX-LHR r/t netted 30,000+ miles. I did six in two months and went from General Member to 1K.

canadiancow spent eleven days on a 62-segment Air Canada frequent flyer competition run: SFO-YYZ-YWG-YQR-YWG-YXE-YWG-YYZ-YQB-YUL-YHZ-YUL-YQB-YUL-YHZ-YUL-YQB-YUL-YWG-YXE-YWG-YQR-YVR-YEG-YWG-YEG-YXE-YEG-YYZ-YQB-YUL-YQB-YOW-YUL-YHZ-YQY-YHZ-YOW-YQB-YYZ-YWG-YQR-YVR-YEG-YXE-YEG-YYC-YEG-YXE-YEG-YWG-YXE-YWG-YQR-YWG-YXE-YWG-YYZ-BOS-YHZ-YYZ-LAX-SFO.

7 segments, $310

I just completed (not a MR):
SYR-EWR-IAH-PHX-SFO-ORD-IAD-YOW
NB The rtn. did involve 2 IROPS.

My anecdotal impression is that UA/CO used to offer more interesting segment runs & now, not so much? Also, IROPS is a real deal changer. IME, the dragons in the UCC will accommodate any reasonable request! (AC is another story, they will steadfastly refuse any px. request).

7 Segments, but 4 of them were intercontinental.
NRT-JFK-LHR-FRA-FCO / FCO-FRA-ORD-NRT.

Fortunately the intercontinental ones were upgraded to business class using UA SWUs back when I was a 1K.

Flights taken for the sole purpose of accumulating mileage or segments, rather than to arrive at a particular destination. Generally done to achieve a status level on an awards program.

Not a MR but the longest route I've ever done as 'one way trip' is GVA - KEF - YZV - ANC - HNL - CTS - GMP, with only 15 hour layover in ANC. Everything else was just refueling stops.

Total, 13962 miles

Military / UN flight?

Refueling in HNL on the way from ANC to CTS makes no sense at all. HNL-CTS is longer than ANC-CTS. Surely they went to HNL for some reason other than refueling.

Sorry...that should have been BGW. Short, 2 hour flight over friendly territory.

I recall these wonderful MSP-GEG error fares. MSP-CLT-LAS-DEN-GEG-SEA-SFO-CLT-MSP in A-class for $150. 625% miles on BD; the good old days, long gone

PHX-SFO-HNL-EWR-CLT for $150 was not bad either

BOS-YYZ-IST-FRA-JNB-ZRH-BOS for $2.5k in Z next January is not bad either, but for miles not segments.
