Reposition flights (nested)?

For you guys that do mileage runs that aren't your home cities. Do you end up making nested reservations? two one-ways? Was considering doing the SEA-OSL MR but would need to fly EWR-SEA-EWR for the reposition. If i do it as a RT it will created a nested reservation, i know chances are I would be fine but not sure i really want to take a chance and have my return cancelled. I tried doing multi-city but the fare jumps pretty significantly.

risk is pretty minimal that the airlines will crack down on you for nested reservations. doing a multi-city and finding it a lot more expensive is interesting -- usually if you can price two one ways adequately you can price the multi-city the same way...try pricing it on matrix and google flights/hipmunk just to be sure that what you are getting from .bomb is really the lowest available fare.
