Best EQP-earning MR on AA?
Hi friends,
Going to take the AA EXP match and try for the status retention challenge - that's 25,000 EQP by June 30th. I'll have 10,000 booked (low flying season for me), but will need another 15k to make it. Flying out of LAX, prefer same-day turns, but willing to be creative. Can also fly ex-CLT in June. Please remember: these are EQPs, not EQMs. Budget not terribly important, but would prefer to keep it under $1000 if at all possible.
Thanks!

Being ex-LAX as well, I've done the SJU run a few times; however, I did see some sub $1K Biz class fares ($896 a/i to be exact), same day turn around, too. Check 5/13-5/14. Make sure you route via JFK and on the outbound redeye. That'll get you close to desired EQPs and 0 day stay.

Thank you clacko and Justme123456! ^
Before I jump on this idea, I'm also interested in accruing as many points as quickly as possible. To that end, I've been searching for good premium economy or business class deals on BA and QF but haven't turned up much worth noting... do you all see anything that might be reasonable? Booking class is T on EF/matrix for both carriers. Other possibilities include IB and JL, but I wasn't able to find any fares on them that brought up 1.5 EQP/mile. Also, AA codeshares, but no luck so far.
Thanks again!

Hmm. 6479 miles each way LAX-PVG vs 3386 miles each way LAX-SJU. Hmm. cpm, if you're under $450 then LAX-SJU will win easily. Outright miles? Equally, no contest: PVG wins.

There's a few threads on it on the MR thread - just look for AA:LAX-PVG. ~$860 RT ai is pretty common throughout the year in Y. On occasion J is available at <$1600 return, but that's much less common. I'm flying J on that in a couple of weeks at $1520 RT ai.

Miles are not the only factor here. OP is looking for EQPs, thus J travel to SJU trumps Y travel to PVG, which may be in a bucket that earns < 1 EQP p/m .

Thanks, folks. I am not sure where you all found that PVG biz fare; don't see it published on EF. Y fares are indeed cheap, but they earn 0.5 EQP. Any other suggestions? Thanks again for all of your ideas!
