What airline?
What budget?
What time restrictions?
Really, you've given minimal information that we can use to help - I assume United, so you can also fly US Air.
Islip to DCA and back is $110 on December 29th. You will not beat that. It's all day in DCA though.
Or take Amtrak to DCA, and do DCA-PHL-ABE on December 28th. Start at 6:35 pm, get to ABE 11:20 pm. $135.

Easiest is to use google.com/flights. Enter your departure city, then leave the destination blank. Tighten up the dates for a same day out and back, then click on the 'Places' icon, and a map will appear. Zoom in until you get good results nearby.
That's all any of us would do, and you know your criteria better than us for a short segment run.
