Need Help with DL segments

If this is the wrong place to ask, please forgive me and let me know where is best.

I've got two guaranteed trips yet to take this year and still need 12 segments to next DL tier. I'm not well versed in segment runs and planning them. Is there someone who can give me some suggestions or direction on how to maximize my two trips if possible to 6 segments each? Again, I'm just not skilled at the whole figuring out segments concept. I appreciate any direction someone might be able to give.

Right now, looking at CMH to TUL (or XNA), dep 11/28, ret 11/29 late or 11/30

The other is CMH to NYC area dep 12/12, ret 12/15

You can use ITA to force multi-stop itineraries for a particular flight you're looking at. When doing your search, click the Advanced Routing Codes link when doing your search, and type "DL" for each segment on the outbound and return that you want. For example...

Departing From:
CMH:: DL DL DL

Destination:
TUL:: DL DL DL

...would try to force a search with 3 flights (i.e. 2 stops) in each direction, although there may not be any possible routing options. You can click the ? icon next to the Advanced Routing Code box to see some basic examples and explanations, but this should get you going in the right direction.

The direct flight, DL 2551, shouldn't receive credit for two segments.

If the two trips are for business, the OP should consider the wisdom of doing wacky connections, especially on the outbound, although perhaps an argument could be made for doing this to obtain a lower fare. What if IROPs happen and the OP misses an important meeting or other business obligation?

IMO it would be better to find a separate cheap segment run to get the additional DL credits.

Thanks for the suggestions all... it is business related, so I don't have a fixed cost, thus the reason for not giving a set dollar amount. The XNA route is normally around $600 minimum these days if I'm lucky. Most of the time, on short notice, I'm hitting $800-$1000... and that's standard 4 segments. Just figured I had a little time to plan these, so I'm hoping I can get creative and get the additional segments.

And MSPEconomist, point well taken as to changes/etc shaking up the agenda. I'll keep that in mind in routing. I'm playing with ITA now to see what I might concoct.
