People, please edit/use the wiki so same questions are not always asked.

The current CTA decision on the Yangon deal is only for tickets canceled by SWISS Airlines for the seven merged complaints/companions and tickets canceled by Jet Airways for one complainant and companions
- It's not about other carriers because each carrier submits different tariffs.
- If you are not one of the complainants or their companions above who were mentioned in the respective cases, you need to submit a case yourself for hearing.
- There's currently one person who is on Iberia for CTA decision, one can either wait for results or submit a complaint to CTA.

Result of the current case for LX in brief is:
- CTA found 5(F) in the tariff used to be unclear for canceling tickets on erroneously quoted fares.
- 5(F) is unjust and unreasonable and must be revised or taken down by July 9, 2013 (or SWISS can appeal by then)
- SWISS did not use its tariff correctly to cancel the tickets.
- SWISS must compensate one complainant's First Class ticket and any related expenses by July 18, 2013 provided with evidence.
- SWISS must transport other complainants (and their companions) in the original price charged with same booking class and routing by June 18, 2014.

Result of the current case for 9W in brief is:
- Tariff on file had no clauses for "erroneous fares" and was updated subsequently, which means it is not relevant to this event
- Therefore, 9W is to reinstate the tickets with a 1-year validity for transport between the same points and the same booking class.

CTA official news can be read here for general overview of the case.

Actual CTA case review can be found here for reference should you wish to file a complaint.

If you have a similar case that's with SWISS, you need to file with CTA to get a result through informal process first before it gets to formal process. The entire procedure can take up to 3 months for each and the result may not be same cause it's case-by-base and the reviewer of the case can be different.

To file an informal complaint with CTA, see here. Click through all of the pages to get to the online form for the informal complaint. Or click here.

To file a formal complaint after informal complaint has been closed, see here. Continue on to the next page to see the address or email address for the formal complaint.

The July 17th and 18th responses from LX can be found here:

First three digits of your 13-digit ticket number.

They credit 300% to SQ F and LX F, making one trip *silver. I don't have United miles (as I am in Canada) so that is pretty useless to have orphan miles.
I would credit to aeroplan but 160% sorta sucks.
36000 is 70% to a OW NA - EUR in J, or OW EUR-DXB in F, right?
What is the YQ with this?

Why not to Aegean? Gold with one flight!?

Travelocity cancelled my booking without ticketing.
- After 12h of booking received a BS mail from them (with no subject nor Trip ID) saying booking cancelled as Revenue Protection Dept had tried to contact me (Not true).
- Few seconds after above mail received an email from Revenue Protection asking to contact them(!!) (BS #2)
- Followed up with an email protesting the above sequence of events, reply was a F-off (Revenue protection cancelled it + if i want that itinerary to contact directly the airline, BS3&4)

Pathetic bunch.

Should have edged my bets with another ticket/OTA.

Are you sure about this? Others said that one cannot simply stay longer in LON, ZRH etc. They said it would re-price the whole tix if you make a sop over somewhere in the middle of the journey.

To me it's a double edged sword. Having a relatively obscure ticket stock can sometimes be beneficial - the big boys tend to make unilateral cancellations or reinstatements, which of course works both ways. With the smaller boys, you can sometimes slip under the radar. Just my 2 centavos.

Visa on Arrival !

Visa on Arrival is no problem, you don't need to be on business and you don't need to have an invitation. The thing is that this is only available for citizens from certain countries

When I arrived on Tuesday, the big sign by the visa booth certainly said that VOA was available. Listed a bunch of countries, which the US was one of them. I'd certainly like to NOT have to pay $80 for my next visa in October.

Is there a rule as to which airline is expected to issue ticket? Reading the posts here I can see no pattern: some people got plated by a TATL carrier, while others got tickets from the TPAC one, and yet some got tickets from the intra-Asia leg like MH and UL?

My RGN-NH-NRT-VS-LHR-BA-ZRH-US-PHL-US-YUL got ticketed by US (037), but my CC was charged by NH. Who's paying whom? Go figure!

EU261/2004 only deals with cases where an airline cancels your ticket within 14 days before departure.

EU Regulations do not apply to any of us.
Please read the EU261/2004 in full. The obligations start as soon as you get a ticket, not at T-14 days.
Also, most of the people here booked the trips as multisegment itineraries through the EU. Even if that wasn't the case, the scope is defined similarly to the to/from/through wording of DOT.

How quickly did DOT follow up on the HKG 4 mile tickets?
Just as it is in the US, airlines will try to cut their losses and actively discourage passengers from seeking compensation or reimbursement. You have to know your rights and be prepared for an uphill battle sometimes.

If you check out the first round RGN thread there's a great post on visas in there(I think on the first page). It changes regularly, though, so if your flight is next year don't assume that what you're told today will be valid.

Ultimately it's still a military ruled country and they can do what they like.
