Cancel?
Hi. Curious about what happens when a mileage run is interrupted/cancelled by something unforeseen on the part of the airline, specifically one with multiple legs. For example, flying LAX-IAD, and IAD-SJU, what is one to do if the IAD-SJU portion is cancelled due to weather? Or if one portion of your trip is interrupted by a mechanical issue?
Since you would be flying for the sole purpose of earning miles, would you just try to get home....or?
Input, please.

It does depend on each case and each airline. I was on one MR a couple years back (when I did MRs as opposed to vacation runs) and it was SEA-ORD-FLL-ORD-SEA. Arrived in to ORD to find my FLL flight was cancelled. Later flight would have arrived after my return from FLL so I called up AA. They put me on next flight back to SEA, refunded my purchase price in full, and even gave me full EQM for what I would have flow.
