Need Help With AA MR :( Please

Hey Guys,

I'm kind of new to this so go easy. I've been a member here for a few years but didn't really come here very often until very recently when I got stuck in quandry.

Anyone have a good MR Route on AA right now? I completely missed the System-Wide DEQM Promotion in Jan and am now left to trying to get the current LAX/SFO-ORD/DFW DEQM Promo which I found out about completely by accident. Its killing me and I can't find decent prices anymore. I'm trying to run for Exec Plat on AA. I'm hoping someone can help me by giving me a few decent cheap MR routes on AA even if they are not DEQM anymore.

Thanks so much!!!

Btw: A couple of days ago ITA was showing outdated pricing. Google Flights seems more up-to-date than the ITA Matrix. It took the matrix hours to reflect what Google Flights and AA.com had already been showing. Is this possible or am I crazy?

I'm doing redeye MRs SFO-ORD quickest turn Mar 5,6,7,12,13. With the 10% coupon from NYC and AA cards from costco I'm about $162 a/i per trip or $0.022 / EQM

I'd start with checking those dates.

Starting airport potential would be great. Remember you need to have an address on file with AA in CA, TX, or IL to get DEQ11 credit.

Smile Out Of LAX!

Duh!! Now that would've helped!! I am out of LAX. Thanks for chiming in you guys!
I was getting nothing but snide remarks over at the "Trick-It" thread. I don't know what happens to this otherwise friendly and sharing forum when you go there.

@ThunderJon, that's actually what I'm kind of doing too! I'm red-eyeing into ORD, taking the 7am to SFO and then doing a same day back to ORD before flying back to LAX!! Crazy.
Unfortunately I could only find the cheapest O Fare on Tues & Thurs so I've booked up as many as I could on that LAX-ORD-SFO routing but now still need 12000 miles.

@TheBOSman, Thank you! I was lucky that I had the LAX address or I don't know how I would be killing myself right now having missed out on the Jan Promo LOL

@Clacko Thanks, something like that or other creative long-haul ideas... I unfortunately can't use the one you mentioned b/c our Promo challenge has to be completed by 3/31 but I will check out that routing to see what the cpm amounts to.

That's kind of how folks are there (I am a very minor poster in the grand scheme of the thread so I've learned the ropes of handling the thread a bit) but I know very little about it. PMing me won't do much good, I can't help much with that. Just have a thick skin and show some (ok, a lot of) willingness to learn. And I pumped the DEQAA January promo for all I could get, on a plane every single weekend (once to LAX, twice to SFO and once to Costa Rica ). Got somewhere around 22,000 bonus miles IIRC in addition to the flight miles.

However, there should be some decent LAX-BOS midweek fares in March. I mention BOS simply because I look at the fares on a near daily basis, especially to LAX and SFO. I have one booked for $240 in early March, but straight BOS-LAX-BOS. Not the best CPM, but decent/OK, and gets me stickers I need and a step closer to EXP, which I'm now set to make in May during the return of an Asia trip. You can try to route via ORD or DFW both ways to BOS for not much more $ depending on what days you can do and availability (weekends are pretty high right now for BOS-LAX). I see some $261 fares LAX-ORD-BOS-ORD-LAX on the first two Tuesdays and Wednesdays in March, that could net you a little over 8700 EQMs with the bonus. $199 fares LAX-ORD-LAX as well. If booking LAX-ORD-BOS, watch out for the direct same flight number flights, you will not get DEQ11 credit for these.

And does Google Flights work better? I've been having a lot of issues with ITA lately (despite being a fairly advanced user) and if GFlights works better, I'll have to adjust myself to it. Good luck!

the usual suspects from lax are bos/jfk/fll/mia for ~ 5k round trip....

edit to add....re cpm, transcons are ~ 5k rt [lax-fll via dfw is 4708 iirc]

3/13 lax-jfk is $260 via ord so 5.2 cpm or so on base bis...

unless you need the status soon, you could wait for another 2x promo or look for mistake fares....

If your AA-recorded address is in CA, TX, IL, you can get DEQMs on LAX/SFO - DFW/ORD round trips incl open jaws, until 3/31. However, you have to register for the promo.

ITA is showing many fares in 200-250 range later in March. You can usually get 5%-10% off with a promo code, plus another 10% off with AA gift cards from Costco.

If you are doing many MRs in March and are not an AC member, consider a 30-day membership for $99. Well worth it for 3 lounge stops per trip.

What about...

LAX-ORD-EWR/JFK-LAX-PVG-LAX-JFK-LAX

It is about 24,500 with the DEQAA promo and a little less than $1200 or less than 5 cpm. Not fantastic, but it is a lot of miles and you can do this trip Friday-Monday in March if you wanted to.

DEQAA ended 1/31 only DEQ11 (LAX/SFO-DFO/ORD) is still going until 3/31

Add up the miles I am only counting LAX-ORD for extra miles. On gcmap my routing comes to 24,600 miles.

But your right I used the wrong name. Sorry!

MPM LAX NRT isn't high enough for LAX JFK NRT.
