I need you guys' idea on my situation.

I am currently a UA 1P and CX MPC Silver (recently matched).

Based on my current progress with all confirmed booking, I am short 7033 miles from re-qualifying as 1P (12/31/2011) and 14446 mile as MPC Silver (7/17/2012).

I have an upcoming trip needed to be book for SFO-ORD from 11/10/2011-11/19/2011 (either AA or UA) for my CX $100 ORD-HKG.

My questions are:

1. Should I take advantage for DEQM SFO-ORD for a early re-qualification for UA (I have 2 similar MR booked) or should I wait?

2. Should I travel on AA or UA to connect CX (UA - UDUs, no lounge; AA- Lounge, no upgrade)?

I'm not sure I understand how you'd get lounge access on AA if you're not OW Sapphire or have an AC membership. I'd take UA for the DEQM while it lasts although the chances of UDU between two UA fortresses like ORD and SFO aren't great.
