The only SkyTeam you could credit to would be AF, any fare class.

That only applies to the Avianca operated segs. As already mentioned, the DL operated segments can credit to most Skyeam plans.

Right, I see now it was in regard to DL-operated, not AV metal.

Looks like they might've left off a zero. I keep forgetting the rule, but I think this would be ineligible for free upgrade on Delta since it's on another carrier's ticket stock?

Make sure travel is complete before May 31st. SCL works for May 22-26. Requires an overnight in BOG usually and a min 3 day stay.

yes and no, Avianca rules have been troublesome.
Can you get this all as DL codeshare? That would be cool since KL/AF go by the ticketed carrier and not the operating airline.

DL prices ATL-SCL $3025 in discounted biz nonstop. Maybe AA is trying to be competitve on the route.

Anyone know if DL elite benefits would apply to this AV fare if booked on DL metel?

Nope. AF sites don't spell out eligible booking codes. You have to go to www.klm.com to find out K is excluded

WOW! ATL-SCL (Santiago, Chile) $249 ALL-IN AV/DL

ATL-SCL (Santiago, Chile) $249 ALL-IN on a combination Avianca-DL.

Airfarewatchdog link: http://www.airfarewatchdog.com/FareD...L/Default.aspx

Found it there and went over to ITA to look at some dates. SEATS ARE SCARCE, but I searched on 6-8 day stays in the April 15-May 15 range and had hits on 4/15, 4/17 and 5/10. Different stays and different date ranges also will hit, but it looks like it dries up after late May. THERE ARE ALSO DEALS TO BOG, UIO and LIM (see below), though IMO SCL is the real prize. No luck with cities on the other side of the continent.

Booked on Orbitz for May 4-11, going through Miami and Bogota both ways (ATL-MIA and MIA-ATL on Delta, rest on AV). Looks like a 4:15 a.m. arrival in SCL and 7:25 a.m. departure from there (bleah!)

DO NOTE: If you take the BOG-ATL flight on AV on your return your itin will probably have an OVERNIGHT STAY in BOG, which may not be to everyone's liking. By connecting through MIA I get a 7-hour overnight layover there rather than 21 hours in BOG.

Total cost (incl. Orbitz booking fee): $257.29. Unbelievable.

I think you also earn DL skymiles at 1:1 for economy, though no MQMs.

Also note: I think Chile hits U.S. citizens with a really stiff visa fee, like $100 or so at the airport, out of reciprocity.

OTHER CITIES FOUND ON THIS DEAL:

Bogota (BOG): $317 all-in (also non-stop flights available & lots of seats)

Quito (UIO): $267 all-in and good availability

Lima (LIM): $316 all-in, not as good availability but found some.

So those are good consolation prizes! (or first prizes for some)

Crossing my fingers and waiting for the ticket number to come through....
