I just tried pricing it via the ITA engine using 21 Feb (Thu) as the departure date, and the earliest return that it would permit on that fare is 25 Feb (Mon). However, Sabre appears to think that a 24 Feb return would be OK:

I think it's availability issue on Sun. 4-days itinerary is possible. (e.g. Mon dep. - Thur return should work)

Edited: It seems that LWRLPY and LXRLPY are not combinable each other.

With these types of rock bottom fares and discount coupon (15%), it looks like UA is really struggling with its Asian routes. Signs of overcapacity in the low season? or is it a sign of the start of recession when people are reluctant to travel?

WOW. These are some great fares. Just pulled up SFO-HKG for $480 "all in" using 15% e-cert. I'm in for one. thank you OP

could someone please describe in more detail what the ual 15% off e-cert is and how to use it?

people frequently reference those thing like they're general knowledge, and i never know what they're talking about.

The question was answered in the thread linked to earlier in this one, but when people talk about something like it's general knowledge that more than likely means it's an "if you don't know it doesn't apply to you (and in this case, to me either, unfortunately)" situation. Basically, UA will from time to time send out emails with unique codes in them, and of course some sort of conditions for use. The last one I got was for 10% but it already expired.

This is what I'm looking at doing as well. Playing around with it now to see if I can get it to work out.

BTW, what about Visa requirements? Is HKG a better bet (less costly or no fee for visa?)?

You might find this Coupon Connection thread to be of assistance in trying to obtain a 15% off code from a fellow FlyerTalker.
