Talking UA LAX-PVD $165 all-in, $90.59 if using $75.00 cert for 5k miles promo

This is pricing @ $165.59 books in L all in at UAL.COM for any date thru end of Feb. (that is how late I checked out to). However, most times are for a 6AM flt either thru IAD or ORD. Excellent MR as this doesn't have any stay requirements and can be done in one day.

Now I booked this because the India call center didn't know how to make my cert work correctly earlier in the 5K cert promotion, so they just took the $75.00 off of a previous trip for me. Now when I saw this sale, I wondered if I could use still use the previous cert that wasn't used, and guess what, it was still good. So I booked this trip to complete my 1/2/3 for 25,000 miles. I am so happy that I was able to find this fare as I don't mind about my miles, just getting status. 1k here I COME!

I'll be doing this MR on 1/7/07:

United 0206 LAX-IAD
United 7382 IAD-PVD
United 7382 PVD-IAD
United 0249 LAX-PVD

With Online Booking, Status, and check-in Bonuses this trip will make me 8,470 miles. Which makes this a trip priced @ 0.011 PPM. Woot, woot got to love the India call center!

Here was my fare details:

It prices out at around $82 one-way too (all-in -- going either direction).

Phone Charge

Did they charge you the $15 for using the phone rep? I have one of the $75 certs and some travel credit.. and so I was wondering if I could call to use the travel credit AND use the $75 in the same booking? I know $15 isn't much but I travel enough where I may be able to use the $75 someother time.

Seriously. Maybe I should post every time I redeem a bump voucher. I've booked some nice tickets for just $1 or $2.

Nope they did not charge my the $15 fee because I informed them that I wanted to book it online and could not. They did try to switch me over to MP for help with the cert and I informed them that MP told me to call them. So after 15 minutes, I guess they were checking to make sure I was using the cert right, they just took $75 off of the fare but forgot to void the cert #, which I used for this flight.

Sorry about that, I was very excited and was writing the thread very quickly. The title does look misleading when looking at the 'With'. Which does sounds like you are getting a cert and 5000 miles. I did try to change the title but I guess it only shows within the thread.

I've gone ahead and edited the thread title to be more clear to those browsing the forum.

I don't think the title was misleading. I understood it the first time I read it that OP was referring to using $75 voucher for 5k miles. If you were an UA fan, you wouldve known what OP was referring to

Anyway, come on, $165 is a great rate for a trans con! I might fly this to PVD and then take a bus to Boston

Great Deal
$165 all in RT (without any voucher)
Via IAD = 2288 + 500 miles = 2788 (one way)
1P+ bonus = 2788 (one way)
Online booking bonus = 500
total RDM gained (not including 5/10/25k) = 11652 = 1.42 cpm ^
total EQM = 5578 = 2.96 cpm ^

Thanks OP

Ha, I was just thinking of taking a bus from Boston to PVD and flying to LA! Too bad they haven't extended the MBTA to PVD yet!
