Your help please

I have gone through the threads regarding mileage runs, but I'm hoping that your expertise might be able to help me.
I'm 2000 miles short of reaching gold on continental and am planning a mileage run for the last week of Nov (can do thanksgiving). My departure airports would be jfk, lga or ewr (I don't have a car and can't go to philly). Ideally I'd like to take a flight where I would have most luck being upgraded, but that would be just gravy.
Your suggestions would be very much appreciated. I tried dreammaps and many other of the tools suggested, but still can't find anything much short of $300.
I also need to keep the travel within the US. I don't care where.
Thank you.
Kate

welcome to FT. Not the cheapest option, but for $200, you can get
JFK-IAH roundtrip on November 24th. (same day RT)

check www.continental.com

Ofcourse.. there would be better and cheaper options, but so far this seems
to be the easiest.

Welcome to FlyerTalk!

For 2,000 miles you really only need four (4) segments. So I would focus on JFK/LGA so you can get a connection.

Your problem is that weekend is very tight, inventory-wise. It is Thanksgiving weekend, after all, and many people return home Saturday and Sunday.

Can you move it to another weekend? If so, grab any $98+ fare (e.g., LGA-CLE-CMH-CLE-CMH on Saturday 12/2 prices out to $119 out the door).

Those flights are L fare on the outbound and K on the return. Those fare classes are 50% EQM earners on CO, which means you're still going to only earn ~730 miles each way.

You're going to need to book CO metal on CO.com to get full credit.

Good luck.

Hi,

I just looked on continental.com and if you are available on Wednesday 29th of November ( you mentioned last week in Nov.) you can fly from EWR either to MIA or FLL for 178$ including everything. There are still a lot of those flights available so you can nearly choose your time of departure and return. MIA goes for 1092 miles oneway so the 2000 miles should be no problem.

Kind regards

Daniel
