Sorry, but that is not much of a mileage run. 2000 EQM's for $198 is ten cents per mile!

I think the OP was more in it for "free beer/wine"

if it's free wine and beer, it's gotta be Horizon!

It's Horizon and Alaska - minor detail

Sure only 2000 miles, but it's a quick way to get 4 segments towards MVP status. And it's all accomplished in 7 hours.

Slightly cheaper but similar beer/wine segment runs

Sure, it's not cheap mileage wise and involves prop planes. But it could be a good way to have fun while earning a couple segments.

I found a couple other runs which are slightly cheaper (date I tried was 9/15).

SEA-PDX-GEG-PDX-SEA, All Horizon, $159 all in, 2000 miles

SEA-BTM-BZM-BOI-SLC-SEA, 1st 2 only are on Horizon, last 2 delta, $181 all in, 2689 miles (2500 EQMs on Continental or NWA).

This is great except for one thing - AS does NOT seem to run on time these days - so one "hiccup" and you could be SOL

I like the idea though! Especially since it does count towards MVP.

+1,000 booking miles with an Alaska Visa (significant when you're only getting 2000 miles otherwise).

Since AS/QX prices all things one-way is it possible to break up this itinerary to get 2000 booking miles with the Alaska Visa?

Why would I do that, when I can do SAN-LAX-SJC and back on AA for $139 all in, and complete it in about 6 hours (besides the free hefeweizen, of course)?
