Yelp! PLEASE Help! Miscalculated, and need 3006 UA EQM on Sat the 18th...!

Hey all,

So I booked a trip to London, leaving on the 18th and back after Christmas, thinking that would push me over 50k. But, I made a mistake (and booked the wrong flights on that trip...) so I'm 3006 EQM's short of 50,000 even AFTER London.

So, I have one day - Saturday - to go somewhere from Hartford/New York area on UA/US/etc to rack up those miles, and make it back in time for my London flight out of Kennedy at 9:25pm. Since the London trip was sort of last minute, its already breaking the bank (H class. ouch.) so as cheap as possible would be good...

I'm drawing blanks at how to do this...

Please Help if you can!!

Thanks,
744

Crunch, crunch, crunch.... hmmmm... crunch, crunch, crunch.

<the sound of you biting the bullet... so might as well enjoy it! >

Not even 6 short segments will get the miles for you because it comes up 6 miles short! (500 X 6 = 3,000). And anyway, getting the cheapo COS on all segs is impossible for any itin that I looked at w 6 segs. So you need to do it w a long or medium haul. Unfortunately, there are just not that many options out of NYC on UA or US that will get you the needed miles and then back in time to make the London connection. (The medium and long haul options are limited).

So this is the best I could come up with given your parameters:

1 UA 401S 18DEC SA LGADEN HK1 610A 830A/O
2 UA1260S 18DEC SA DENIAD HK1 1245P 558P/O
3*UA5410S 18DEC SA IADJFK HK1 705P 814P/X

FQT 300.93 19.50 22.57 9.30 352.30 SR3TVUN 15DEC/ TVL4FREE / 7:47AM MOUNTAIN (AS IN BOEING)

NYCDEN 1626 DENWAS 1473 WASNYC 215
TOTAL 3314

MINIMUM CONNETING TIME JFK -UA DD DI ID II
STANDARD: JFK 060 075 105 120
UA-UA ONLINE JFK 030 030 075 060

FWIW, the minimum connecting time to your LONDON flight is within the appropriate guidelines.

Actually, I was pretty amazed that it came out this low. Every other option that I looked at was pricing in the big leagues.

These requests are now becomming very, very time consuming. Perhaps someone else can come up w something better. Good luck. Best I could do.

But I'm actually pretty pleased w it.

Cheers.

ex NYC run

See my post above but I found a 5K BIS run from LGA to LAS via IAD and Den outbound and Ord return for this sunday. Not sure it works on Saturday, but I found it on expedia and is a good deal at 230.00

Ur LAS deal is sweet. Unfortunately, it doesnt work on SAT the 18th. Plus the guy has to be back to JFK (not LGA) by 8:30 or so for the onward LON flight. So ur LGA return wont work. Oh well...

I think this guy was just a drive by, anyway. But somebody must be paying attn here, cos the seats on this route suddenly got sucked into never, never land.

Why not just pay the $150 for the United Double EQM promotion and get double EQM's on your London flight? That'd be cheaper, and easier, than trying to take a flight Saturday.

But I think today (12/15) is the last day to sign up for the Double EQM promo.... so you better hurry.

You have to fly by today too and S, T fares do not qualify.
So this won't work for them...

Thanks SO much for the help tvl4free...and the seats got sucked by me

I was pricing out things in the $1000 range before, so this saved a ton of money, and the times work too. Thanks again...744
