If a stopover occurs - does this activate the HIP rule?

What is the equivalent of 86910 Miles and More status miles once converted into United status miles? I am UA 1K. Would that be the same number of United status miles?

UA is very stingy rewarding passengers on First Class tickets. If the trip above were credited to Mileage Plus, one would earn 22176 status miles. As a 1K, you would earn 34264 total Mileage Plus miles including 1K bonus and Class of Service bonus. Mileage Plus seems to be designed to encourage high fare passengers to go elsewhere.

One could do six of these for about $10K and be assured of achieving the new top M&M tier as well as KrisFlyer PPS.

If you want the new M&M top tier you will have to fly LH so you will end up with plain SEN status

Do you have a source for that?

It looks like you got the SQ fare rather than the OZ fare. To get the OZ fare you need to choose OZ flights between ICN and SFO/LAX -- certainly on the outbound and probably on the return also.</font>
The OZ F fare doesn't seem to list any restrictions. It looks like you can book OZ flights with this fare and then do a endorsement waiver when you get to the aiport for SQ service.

I found in the fare rules

STOPOVERS

UNLIMITED STOPOVERS PERMITTED. A STOPOVER OCCURS WHEN THE PASSENGER DOES NOT DEPART AN INTERMEDIATE POINT WITHIN 24 HOURS.

Does this mean that I can do a stopover at every transit point? Wow...this would be great if it can be done.

I can find the fare rules, but still having some difficulty constructing the itineary.

great fare, but hard to find. can locate it in travelocity's fare listings, but can't bring it up in flight search. have tried mutliple city search(CMB-ICN and ICN-SFO) restritcted to SQ, OZ and UA and have selected OZ for transatlantic portions, but fare is $5200. Expedia seems to be done for maintenance so can't play around there. Would one be able to just book this by calling an OZ number in the US, even though travel originates in CMB?

Okay, finding the fare is easy enough, on Travelocity, but then what?

I can't book it through them, and can't call the Asian number, right?

Can someone provide me with some ideas? I will go to CMB if necessary (how?) because this seems like an amazing opportunity to see a part of the world I've never set foot in, but can it really work? In F???

The most reasonable way to get to CMB to start this would seem to be a RTW. An alternative would be to do a SIN run and then fly from SIN.</font>
This would probably work best for someone who is already on a RTW and could stop there as part of it-- or for someone who lives in that part of the world.
