However, since I didn't manage to make a MR this weekend, any suggestions out of LAX (or BUR/LGB/SNA/ONT) the upcoming weekend (12/20-22) or out of TPA from 12/25-12/31?

LAXflyguy, remember Continental Connection-- 1500 can be done with one intra-FL connection flight.
Use the route map here http://www.gulfstreamair.com/destinations.html to plan the trip.
HOWEVER, be warned that the flights will only count toward NW elite status if booked under a NW code-- which is unlikely.
If you're going for Continental status, you're fine.
