British Airways Marks 25 Years of Service To Texas, Roundtrip Fares To London and Europe From Only $198

Travel in November for lowest fares.
Book by 31-OCT.

Tuesday October 29, 7:00 am ET

NEW YORK, Oct. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- British Airways marks 25 years of serving Texas with incredibly low fares to London and Europe. The airline, which operates 14 flights per week between Houston and London and seven flights per week between Dallas and London, is offering a $198 roundtrip fare to London for travel in November. Other bargain fares are available for travel from December through March.

As well, the airline is offering a bargain $298 roundtrip airfare for travel in November to three key European destinations: Paris, Amsterdam and Brussels as well as select cities within Britain. Low fares are also available to other European destinations including Barcelona, Frankfurt, Geneva, Madrid, Milan, Munich, Rome and Zurich.

The $198 roundtrip fare to London and the special $298 Europe fares will be on sale for three days only, Oct 29, 30 and 31, and are valid for outbound travel in November 2002.

Additional promotional fares will be on sale over the three day selling period from Oct 29-31. For travel from December 2002 through February 2003, travelers can take advantage of a special $238 roundtrip and for travel in March 2003, travelers can purchase a $258 roundtrip to the UK. Travel to Paris, Amsterdam and Brussels from December through March will be an additional $100 above the UK fares.

British Airways passengers will also be able to book discount hotel rooms through British Airways Holidays. Hotels are available starting at $32 per person per night in London and $30 per person per night in Paris, all based on double occupancy including continental breakfast, when you book online at http://www.baholidays.com. Excellent rates at properties throughout 22 other cities in Europe are also available.

British Airways customers are encouraged to book their seat sale tickets at http://www.britishairways.com or by contacting their local travel agent. An additional $10 discount off the roundtrip airfare is available when logging in and booking online at http://www.britishairways.com .

The minimum stay is one Saturday night, and the maximum stay is one month. No advance purchase required, but payment and ticketing are due at time of booking. These special round trip fares are based on mid-week travel (Sunday through Wednesday); travel Thursday through Saturday incurs a $30 weekend surcharge each way. A black out period from December 18-23, 2002 applies for travel to the UK or Europe.

Fares are subject to availability and do not include government fees and taxes of approximately $92 plus a $2.50 Sept. 11th Security Fee per person when departing the USA. Other restrictions may apply.

Further information on flight schedules and fares from the USA to the more than 200 destinations in British Airways' global network is available by calling local travel agents or by visiting the airline's website at http://www.britishairways.com .

Huh? I don't see that anywhere. The $198 fare out of DEN and DFW appear to be booked in N COS. I just check with Executive Club and was advised that only L,O, and Q don't earn miles.

The fare will earn miles, but not tier points (for silver/gold qualification). Kinda like the difference between qpoints and qmiles. You can only earn tier points on YHBK fares. Can earn miles/credits on QF though.

OK, gotcha, hauteboy.

There are very bizarre tariff changes going on with BA fares this morning.

Apparently, res changes to some of these new low fares can be made without a fee!

This appears to apply to many of the new fares - but apppears to have just changed as it relates to the $198... $198 no longer changeable... but will it stick?

From Expedia:

http://www.expedia.com/daily/promos/...02/default.asp

Extended through November 4, 2002! British Airways has extended their offer of truly amazing fares—as low as $228 roundtrip—to London and 40 other destinations worldwide! These special fares are available from 18 U.S. gateways to cities like Paris, Rome, Barcelona, Prague, and many others.

Plus, should your plans change, these fares offer you the flexibility to re-book your new travel dates for free—all the way up to March 31, 2003.

1 Departure and/or return travel dates can be changed at least seven days prior to departure date without penalty for travel anytime through March 31, 2003, subject to availability. No re-bookings allowed for travel December 18–23, 2002.

WOW. NO CHANGE FEES. I'M IMPRESSED!

At the moment this fare is only available to LGW, but not LHR, from DFW. And, AA is currently not matching.
