$2 airfares on N7 (National) for travel 11-Sep

Apparently anywhere N7 flies on 9/11. Base fare $2; I'm getting a total fare of $20 on Orbitz for everything on 9/11 with a sameday return, such as:

N7 81 11-Sep ORD-LAS 0700-0850
N7 410 11-Sep LAS-ORD 1955-0115+1

It's good on their website so you don't have to pay Orbitz the $5 fee.

I just went onto thier site and found

Travel 9/11

N7 Flt #7 JFK-LAS dep. 745a arr. 1015a
#408 LAS-JFK dep. 430p arr. 1220a

Fare w/taxes $19.00

Personally, I'm not going to ticket. It seems strange to me to "celebrate" the attack.

Any other day though...

yeah, i got great times, too. but, you gotta get to the the airport, get home from the airport, and do the same in LAS. so, the day will still cost material coin. plus, you will be in commute far longer than in LAS. and, i would rather be on the ground for 9/11 for personal reasons.

BUMP......

Looks like some availability is showing up now. I found LAS-IAD priced at $9.50 one way with tax. I'm sure there are others.

Can it be considered a mileage run if the airline doesn't have a FF program? Or does National have one?

Shareholder,
they have one, but these fares don't qualify.

I know all of the econ seats from DFW>LAS on N7 have long been sold out. Last time I checked there were a few seats in first avail at the sale rate of $150 OW.

Maybe I need to clarify since the thread got killed in Miles Buzz:

I'm finding that National routes that _previously_ showed 0 availability are _now_ showing seats open for the $1 fares.

Examples: LAS--IAD show the max (7) seats open in each fare class for both flights, 12:45pm and 10:55pm. IAD--LAS shows 1 seat available at 9:25pm. All of these flights had previously shown as sold out. Seats are possibly available on other routes-- the DC routes are the only ones of interest to me.

Of course I find this the day after flying one way LAX--DC out of my pocket Sept. 9.

Mileage run connection: while mileage cannot be accrued for the National flights, a mileage runner may find it beneficial to incorporate a $1 ticket into a larger trip, i.e. a traveler looking for 2 Southwest credits for a DC to LA trip can pay $1 on National plus a ~$70 Southwest LAS--LAX walk up fare vs. the $250+ BWI--LAX Southwest walk up; hence $71 vs. $250 for 2 Southwest credits on a DC to LA trip.
