DFW-LHR - 15K Base Miles 329.00 up to 90K Miles!!!
This beats the Taipei run. . .
Mar 1-3 or Mar 8-10
Actual Cities
DFW-LAX-SBA-LAX-LHR - Outbound
LHR-LAX-SBA-LAX-DFW - Inbound
You can also change this routing through
SAN Outbound/Inbound and SFO Inbound
LHR-ORD-SFO-DFW - Inbound
LHR-LAX-SAN-DFW - Inbound
Etc. . .
To price this - here are your 4 segments.
DFW-SBA (or DFW-SAN etc)
SBA-LHR
LHR-SBA
SBA-DFW
around 2-3 cents a mile depending how you price it out.
For Plat/Exec Plat - 15K Base 15K Bonus + 10K for the first trip (stickers) up to 40K miles total trip 1 - and if you take 2 trips get another 15K/15K + 8 Stickers = 20K
Total of 90K Miles for 700.00
not a bad price. . .less than .008 cents a mile.
I am booked for both!
See you onboard!

Wow!
Very impressive.
I request that you cross post this on the AA board , so that this info is not missed by intrested FT'ers.
I know that purists get all huffy with "crossposts", But this thread is compelling and the crosspost is by request.

OK folks. . . its mass chaos!!
Just today - I tried these routings.
DFW-SAN
SAN-LHR
LHR-SAN
SAN-DFW = 455.00 TOTAL including Taxes
DFW-SBA
SBA-LHR
LHR-SBA
SBA-DFW = 462.00 TOTAL including Taxes
Same for DFW-FAT FAT-LHR LHR-FAT FAT-DFW
and DFW-SBP SBP-LHR LHR-SBP SBP-DFW
I have found if you mix and match fares
i.e. DFW-SBA SBA-LHR LHR-SAN SAN-DFW
sometimes the price will drop about 10-15 dollars.
PLUS if you book with your Citibank AAdvantage Card - get 5% off the fare
So 462.00 = 439.00 (I think its off top - not base fare?)

I haven't taken a look at the miles.
I know I ran DFW-BOS-MIA-LHR trip and it was a lot of miles.
Using LAX does work - why I'm not sure but since it's a gateway city - that has something to do with it. BOS / MIA are both gateways and that's why it doesn't make the price jump.
What does cause 10-20 bucks are the respective landing fees.
You gotta love to fly.
------------------
TANSTAAFL - but if you work it right, FF miles comes pretty close.

I am working in Memphis right now, so I tried to sub in Mem for DFW and AA.com would not let me finish out the schedule as it said I had exceeded 8 segments. Anyone know a work around here. I know I could try it as two separate Mem to SBA and SBA to LON the pricing is more.
Also I had seen a comment on FT, which mentioned that we could get booking bonus on Orbitz.com, but I have not been able to confirm this with AA... any one else try it yet?

freeupgrade....
I am on all the same flights except the outbound DFW - LAX, there I am on AA 2453 later in the day.
Unfortunately I am only PLT and have no upgrades so I am stuck in coach the whole way, in seats that really suck, but the seat selection was getting very limited when I booked my flight.
AA 136 currently on 42C
AA 137 currently on 30E
AA 2462 currently on 21H (exit row at least).
Has anyone ever tried to provide AA SOS coupons to an agent and ask them nicely to upgrade you? Has it ever worked?

I thought SOSs were designed to reward exceptional customer service, not to serve as bribes. Waving $5 at the banker doesn't get me a better rate on my loan, why should waving the equivalent at a GA get me a better seat?
Why not simply ask for an upgrade?

I was thinking of asking nicely for an upgrade and offer many (I currently have 24) SOS certificates for their helpful excellent service.
I was just wondering if anyone had tried this and if it was successful?
