Who cares? Practically no one can get into Hong Kong anyway.

Buying this fare is like lending AA money interest-free, unless you have a crystal ball and can see when they will really resume flying into HKG. I just don't see it happening in the next year.

I would like UA to match, as I would buy that ticket. If I can't fly it oh well, I'd just apply it to something else.

Gut feeling is that HK will open up at a minimum to fully vaccinated travelers. HK would be foolish to continue to maintain such border closure by that point.
