Came across another great deal on flights:

Fast turn around doesn't seem possible (or desirable given length of flight and lack of TWOV if since you're origin and return are in the US) so I'd recommend considering this option if you actually want to visit China.
Since you're flying AC/UA milage earning should be 100% with AC earning 50% RDM on UAL. AC seems to have the cheapest fare (by a couple dollars) and allows you to visit YUL/YYZ if you've never been there before thanks to the long layover (as well as enjoy the showers and other facilities of the MLL
).
