If it wasn't in the middle of the week, maybe. But dear god that's a killer flight.

I agree. I would love to find flights that were more on the weekend so that I won't have to take off of work, but I figured that if I want to get my mileage runs in that I will have to take some time off to get the good deals.

I'd be interested in doing one of these in the winter, it looks like there is availability Dec-Feb for ~750ish, but on a slightly more painful JFK-DTW-NRT-SIN routing. (What's interesting is the fare code lists stopovers as possible for +$100, but I can't seem to get Matrix to give me a NRT stopover without the price almost doubling.)

I would say JFK DTW NRT SIN is less painful as you can ride the 747 on the way there.

Right now I am just trying to get my MQMs in so that I can build up my status. I don't really know enough yet to really care about which planes that I fly on, but it does seem like quite a few people prefer the 747

why not the Eastern China fare versus Delta

for what I see this fare on that link is about $200 less for better MQM accrual as the B fare is at 150% China Eastern and I calculate the distances to be more... ??

I saw that earlier also, but from what I could tell that some of the legs did not get you MQMs.

My mistake, it's out of LGA in NYC, so LGA-DTW-NRT-SIN. These are easy to find in Google Flights by just searching LGA-SIN confined to Delta, then the calendar view should be showing a dozen or so dates per month throughout winter -- the exception actually being December, where prices are higher (presume. because of the holidays) and the only ~750ish rates seem to be for a 7-day trip. Shorter turns are all over Nov/Jan/Feb though if you want, including 2-day true MRs.

(Can anyone figure out how to successfully get the stopover in NRT to add for the fare code stated $100?)

99% of the time, JFK-PVG flight is coded as Q fare - which earns 0 on DL.

B fare only applies in the intra-asia flights.

LOW Fare Back

I was just checking to see if they price had changed any and it is actually down to $716. Now I have to decide if I am going to fly this or go with my back up plan.
