So tempted to book for my school's spring break (I'm a teacher) - but would be going alone. Any safe? I survived 6 months in Beijing, but there wasn't the Cold War 2.0 going on then.
I'm more of an SPB guy than Moscow but I think it's a very interesting city to visit. I was treated very nicely by 95% of the Russians I met.

Is it freezing cold in March in MOW and LED? I am told its slushy and snowy. Looks like the fare is only good for the winter.

The spring in moscow and SPB is like 5 degrees celsius, sun is shining and snow and ice are melting. Some days it can grow up to 10 and more . In spb is colder. If someone needs any more info, you can ask me more in a private message.
