Be careful: The LGA-CLT and CLT-SEA segments are part of a "direct" flight, so you will only accrue LGA-SEA. This shaves ~544 miles off the total and brings the cpm up to ~4.4.

Hmmmm. Interesting. How did you come to that conclusion? I recently took a flight from LGA to SJC via IAH on UA and the entire segment counted separately even though the IAH segment was a layover on the same flight. Is this US specific? Thanks!

No, this is not US-specific. See, for example, this report of a IAD-DXB-DOH flight being credited as IAD-DOH on United.

Now with UA, you can apparently call up and have the segments split after booking (or even proactively book as multi-city) to get full credit, but I have no idea if that will work with US.

Good to know. I wonder if UA actually split the segments because I was upgraded from LGA to IAH and remained in E+ from IAH to SJC? Nonetheless, I didn't have to call UA for anything and they credited my trip based on different segments. Happy New Year!!!
