You can get to ord from dtw for $199. A week ago it was $133. Maybe it will drop again.

It's still available. ORD to JFK to TLV and back. $640. Pretty cheap.
I live in NYC. I know the answer already, but I am assuming there's no way to check in the flights from the US and just not board from ORD and show up here to board the JFK-TLV flight? On the way back you can just not take the second leg, but on the outbound this will invalidate the ticket, right?

Your entire ticket would be cancelled for missing the ORD-JFK leg. You would not be allowed to board in JFK.

You can probably get off it JFK on the way back if you don't check any bags... I'm not sure what would happen to the miles overall though, so probably not worth it.

But you can always get a second passport later if you are a stamp collector.
