Didn't find any AC fare remotely close to this from Canada-SYD. While I certainly would've preferred YVR-SYD direct on AC metal, connecting through SFO/LAX is hardly a bother for the savings.

Cheap (just over $1,000) flights from NYC to Europe on *A if you are willing to go through YUL.

Example: LGA-(YUL-MUC)-MAD-(BRU-YUL)-LGA 11/20-11/26 $1,085

Quite a find! Z7UT fare, which seems to good for every date I checked (post the 7 day advance purchase), no min stay, max stay 1 year, $100 per enroute stopover, $200 for changes and $300 for refund....but the kicker TICKETS MUST BE ISSUED ON/BEFORE 29AUG 12. That's today folks!

Decent price for F, maybe, LAX-PVG on AA
It looks like an I fare LAX-PVG is booking into F rather than J. Found on ITA but appears bookable thru Kayak, sample dates 10/26-10/31 at $4545 RT. Seems OK for transpac F.

1936 for MAD, just over 2K for FCO, ATH, CDG. Not bad from West Coast, but not as good as deals seen from NYC.
