Where'd the $800 a/i fares on SA go? There've been many much better fares than $1400...

If you buy a Y fare ticket on UA and it's operated by SAA, does it still count for 150%, does that mean that you're essentially flying Y on SAA?

No.

These ~$1400 tickets are for SA's G bucket, which credit 100% EQM/RDM to CO and 70% EQM/100% RDM to UA. This deal is about 8.7 CPM when credited to CO or 12.1 CPM when credited to UA. Also, the elite RDM bonuses don't apply to SA metal.

Actually, I got 100% UA RDM/EQM for SA G, on the SA deal in January for $770 all in to MRU. (It was much less to JNB

That was a good deal, but no elite bonus.

With Y being the full-fare designator on all/most *carriers with related mile boni, it might be helpful to replace "Y" with "economy" in title.

Thx mods.

or how about just moving the entire thread to the Mileage Run forum, where it probably belongs (and where they can debate over there whether it's actually a MR or not...)

As others have rightfully put it, this is probably not to be considered a mileage run.

The fare is relatively high, and it's off-season in South Africa in August since it's winter in the southern hemisphere.

Hence, I am closing this thread.

Kind Regards
