What to do in Chicago--there's a catch

I have a mileage run coming up to Chicago and was wondering what I can do since I am landing at 4:45am and not leaving untill 9am. I wanted to go into town--probably take the blue line, and have breakfast.

Any suggestions? I will head back to the Airport at around 7am. How long does it take to get downtown on the blue line?

Thanks!

Here's why people are telling you to rethink your plan:
4:45 a.m.: Land
5 a.m.: Arrive at the O'Hare el stop
6 a.m.: Arrive downtown
6:15 a.m.: Arrive at breakfast destination
7:15 a.m.: Finish breakfast
7:30 a.m.: Arrive back at El stop
8:30 a.m.: Arrive back at O'Hare el stop
8:45 a.m.: Clear security
9 a.m.: Arrive at gate
9:01 a.m.: Talk to gate agent about rebooking flight

Take the Blue line to Harlem (3rd stop from ORD, approx 15 minutes) to Sally's waffle house, they have great fluffy omelets. It's a 5 minute walk from the train station. If you go downtown, you could spend up to 3 hours RT on the train

Have they finished the construction? When I took this trip a month ago, it was closer to 1.5 hours with a bus ride to detour around the closed stop(s).

They're still using a bus shuttle for part of the Blue Line to the Loop - but only late nights and weekends.

That said, there's nothing worth doing in the Loop at that hour, and because the Blue Line is mostly underground, it's not even worth taking the ride for the view!

Have a breakfast burrito at Burrito Beach in the T3 H-K Concourse. It's a bit of a walk, but at least you can do it airside.
