ORD to midway via the EL?
Have to do a mid week overnight mid october and the prices for hotels at ORD and intown are just insane(many properties sold out)So is it possible to do ORD-midway via the EL ?I know the blue line is slow(understatement)But what is the reasonable time I should expect on this trek?
Thanks in advance.

Can be done, not sure about time issues (hour-20 is the dead minimum), here's the site to check:

If it involves tight flight schedules, I'd allow 2.5-3 hours to be on the safe side. With the current Blue Line "slow zones," folks have reported travel times of 1.5+ hours from ORD to Clark/Lake. The orange line from Clark/Lake to MDW is every bit of 30 minutes, and that's just riding on the train itself.

Not a trek I have ever undertaken, but isn't there a bus or shuttle van between the Chicago airports?
That would surely be a better way to go, if it is still running.

You could also take the Cicero bus to the Montrose Blue Line station. A long haul on the bus, but, it is a straight shot from Midway along Cicero to the Blue Line and then a short ride to ORD.
By the way, it is certainly "L".
"El" is, IMHO, a New York term which no true Chicago person would use.
