As someone who lived all my life in another city with hellish traffic, the ride from OP to MCI is a dream if you take 435 (KC's version of a ring road). There are slightly more direct routes, but this one never slows down unless there's some sort of emergency/accident, or horrible snow, which is quite rare. It's wonderfully predicatable most of the time.

The corrupt coasts have been corrupting the 'moral' midwest.

The meth is mostly in the rural areas in and around Independence, which is Harry Trumans hometown. If you are staying out in OP then you probably wont see much except rich white people.

If you're trying to get *wood platinum, you'll probably want to stay at the Sheraton Overland Park. It's only 3 years old and in great shape. The location is also pretty good. You can hop on the highway in 2-3 minutes from there, and also have access to a bunch of good restaurants within 10-15 minutes.

I think that's a bit of an overstatement. I know rich. This is nice and comfortable out here - big houses for a song (say $300k) that would cost about $1.5 MM in Chicago and probably $3 MM in LA - but plop any of us into another major metro and it ain't rich. (Yes, there are rich areas, but most of OP isn't that.)

Jake is right, its all relative depending on where you live. I guess I was thinking that when people think about Kansas they usually don't know that there are places like OP and not just all flat farmland.
When we have people come visit us from out of town, they are usually shocked that we only paid $180,000 for the house.
