Interesting, since the mayor "lost" several seats on the City Council and he was clearly against the ban from the beginning.

You're making the (unwarranted, IMO) mistake of 'assuming' that those who took the seats he "lost" are woefully unaware of just how badly things COULD go in their wards -
Were they not to do what Hizzoner wants.

OTOH, I doubt whether city services would be at issue over a vote on foie gras.

I still have a restaurant.com coupon to throw into the fray, but I don't know if the burgers count as 'dinner' for that. But Wednesdays are difficult for me, other than next Wednesday being unexpectedly free, I have little idea when I'm going to next be in Chicago on a Wednesday and not on a business trip.
