Staying at Harrahs Casino Kansas City

I will be traveling to Kansas City in October and am thinking of staying at Harrahs. Does anyone have any idea of what it's like and about getting to it from the airport

I used to live there, but it has been several years. If my memory serves me correctly, it should only be about a 20 minute drive. There is nothing close to the airport. Somebody please correct me if I am wrong.

20-30 minutes

it is a pretty easy shot from airport to Harrah's. Down 435, which goes east then south, from the airport. Pass World's of Fun, and take next exit west. You will see brown signs for casino's as you get close.

I am not sure of the rooms at Harrah's, but I know that there is not much else real close by, so you might be limited to dining options at the casino, which I hear are decent, but have always seen huge lines for.

Ameristar is actually the largest casino in the area, and the rooms are decent. They just got done remodeling. Dining options are more numerous and there is a movie theater and other entertainment options (all on-site) if you are looking for more options. This casino is at the same exit, except head east, instead of west.

Hope you have a good time....don't forget to pick up some bbq somewhere.

I've stayed in one of the tower rooms there & it was decent. The one time we stayed there, the front desk staff was quite pleasant.

As far as the food goes, the buffet is not the greatest (but edible). The Corner Grill is rather nasty. I don't know about the food at the Toby Keith bar, but some of the girly-type drinks are rather tasty (rather pricey, as well). YMMV on the food, though.
