MKE to Amtrak station
Hello all,
I'm considering flying out of MKE (having been in CHI) early in July.
I think I would like to take Amtrak from somewhere in Chicagoland to Milwaukee, and then head to the airport.
Is this an insane idea? How do you suggest getting from the Milwaukee Amtrak station to the airport? Are they close?
Thanks very much.

Amtrak has the Hiawatha service that runs between downtown Chicago and Milwaukee, with a stop at MKE airport.
If your trip is early enough in July, you might want to consider checking out Milwaukee's Summerfest. It's advertised as "The World's Largest Music Festival" and runs from June 29 - July 9. It's a great party and is an easy walk from Amtrak's Milwaukee downtown station to the lakefront festival grounds.

did my first Amtrak up to MKE for a flight, ride was very relaxing, wi-fi, only glitch was that there was construction on the line so that the ride took an extra 30 minutes.
