Will be making a mileage run SAN-ORD-OMA-ORD-SAN next week. Will earn 10K miles with Platinum bonus plus AA booking bonus all for $121 plus tax. Arriving AA 10:30 PM with overnight at Sleep Inn near airport. Departing following day AA 4:30 PM. Can anyone recommend a special Steakhouse? Have always wanted to savor a genuine Omaha steak! I can find very little information via Internet searches. Will appreciate any recommendations on restaurants in particular etc. Thanks!

Ask the airport shuttle guy to drop you off downtown at the Old Market or take a cab (maybe $3-$4). It's just 2 miles from where you are staying. It was the original downtown to Omaha and has the old brick streets and they've rehabbed all the 19th century buildings into restaurants, shops, and other unique places. Omaha Prime is down there and arguable has the best steaks in town, but be prepared to drop some dough for them there. Vivaces has excellent northern italian fare, and the Indian Oven has great tandoori. If you decide a steak is too pricey, maybe a great Cajun meal at Butsy Ledoux's would satisfy you. Yes, Omaha is quite a wordly city. All of the mentioned restaurants are in the Old Market and within 1-2 blocks of each other. In fact, Omaha has the 2nd highest number of restaurants per capita in the US (behind San Francisco). Omahans love to eat out and do so frequently. When you leave the airport, don't forget to stop by the Omaha Steaks kiosk a bring a few on dry ice back home for your grill! Enjoy my hometown!!!
