Not too far from the city. Another one of my haunts for the past 15 years. The owner is very close friends with my mother. Excellent sushi and very fresh. They serve other dishes too but never tried them. Sushi rules.

I agree, Kuni's is very good.

Closer to me is a sushi favorite of mine, Bowl House, on the SW corner of Arlington Hts Road and Golf Road.

Another favorite is World Market on the corner of Higgins and Arlington Hts Road.

A couple updates:

World Market is now called Tensuke Market. Still great sushi and cheap prices.

Wife and I have enjoyed Bowl House for awhile now. They used to be located on the corner of Golf & Arlington Hts Rd in Arlington Heights. They have since moved to an old Schlotzke�s (sp?) Deli location on Algonquin near New Wilke in Rolling Meadows.

It is a nice location; they even installed a small koi pond in front.

Upon entering, we were sad not to see our usual waitresses; it seems as if the waitstaff has changed. Service was fine though.

Bowl House offers sushi and various sushi combinations, I either am in a pig out mode and get the A combo or I just want a light offering and went for C combo last night. I like Bowl House over the now nearby Sakura (Algonquin & 53).

Wife had a chicken bowl (Don Bu Ri).

They are now offering new, different items. Some cook on your table items as well as a Korean offering called SinSunRo.

My husband has taken several clients there for lunch and dinner when they are in the Oak Brook area.

They have two tea rooms in the back of the restaurant that allow you to have a very private meal and the staff is very courteous.

I second the vote for Momotaro. Great sushi, nice presentation and reasonable prices.

The epitome of fine sushi establishments has to be SaGaNo in downtown Barrington. Bar none the nicest atmosphere, freshest fish and overall experience.

I agree. I live three blocks from that restaurant. Good service, refreshing atmosphere, good quality sushi.

Stay away from the sushi place at the corner of Algonquin Rd. and Arlington Heights Rd. It's in a strip mall.

Do you mean the huge grocery store Mitsuwa or the places just east of there on Algonquin (next to the defunct Home Run Inn pizza)?

It was definitely a small restaurant and I do remember it wasn't in a grocery store. The door to the restaurant faces Arlington Heights Rd.
