Silver Seafood - northside
This is some of the best Chinese in Chicago IMO.
For a starter, my wife and I split the lobster that was flash fried w/spices and salt. The best pieces were neither the tail nor claws; it was the junctions of the legs MMMMMMMMMMM!!!!! Crunchy and bursting w/lobster flavor.
Steamed Oysters w/Black Bean Sauce, We received 8 oysters and they were huge, plump and steamed on the shell, loaded w/chopped greens and some of the best black bean sauce Ive ever had. This was a stellar dish.
I like cooking w/Chinese sausage and we rarely see it on a menu, so when we spied Steamed Chicken w/mushroom and Chinese Sausage, my wife immediately picked that.
Chicken was full flavored but slightly dry, shitakes & sausage were delicious. While good, we will not order this dish again as there were too many other choices we thought we would get to next time we go back, which we will for sure.
Forgot to order the much discussed Stir Fried Hollow Vegetables. DARN. But as I mentioned above, next time.

indo79 and I ate here this evening.
For starter had the frog legs w/salt & spices. YUM!
Next was the shrimp w/candied walnuts. Shrimp is sauteed with mayo and served w/the candied walnuts. Way sweet, could have had this as a dessert.
Final was abalone and sea cucumber sauteed w/bok choy. Abalone was ok, the sea cucumber was terrific.

Silver Seafood was just mentioned in Chicago Magazine's recent article "The 124 Best Dishes". The dish mentioned was Clams in Black Bean Sauce - pile of tender clams is bathed in a sauce made from fermented black beans, soy, garlic, ginger and hot pepper slices.
