Message for Sweet Willie

The next vacation I take, I just want to follow you around for a week and eat up a storm. While others might not view this as much of a vacation, but I consider food to be a very important part of any vacation. I do hope I get a chance to meet you one of these days. One question though. How do you stay in shape? or do you bother?

Willie stays in shape by jogging from restaurant to restaurant.

If you plan to follow him on your next vacation, you'll have to jog also. You might even lose more calories than you eat!

I agree, food is such a part of one's culture and is very easy part of different cultures to experience.

My wife has classes on Thursday nights, so for the immediate future, there is a standing invitation to any FT'er who would like to dine in the Chicagoland Area (city, N or NW burbs preferred, but I rule out none) on Thursday nights. Pick a restaurant, I'm always up for new experiences.

I USED to run 11 miles every other day. But that was 10 years ago. Having worked for the food industry for a long time and non-stop traveling my work out schedule has gone by the wayside and we "Pilsburied Up" But I have started working out 6 days per week, 3 cardio and 3 lifting (light toning as I don't need bulk anymore).

Edited to Add: Korea71, I would really like to go to a Korean restaurant w/you as I'm not well versed in Korean cuisine/culture. Perhaps some other FT'ers would like to join us for a Korean Restaurant experience?!??

As I have just gotten back from Korea, I don't know if Chicago Korean food is gonna do anything for me for a while I have resigned myself to looking like the doughboy for the time being also. Would you enjoy a restaurant style or an all-u-can eat place?
The only problem is that I finish work at 7:30 PM every night so if you don't mind eating a little late, this is definitely going to happen. If you want to follow me to Korea, it's gonna be another month or so

I usually find all you can eat places do not have the quality I'm looking for, so a "normal" food place will do. I've got this Cuban place I heard about that I want to try if you are up for it.

After 7:30pm is not a problem, wife's classes do not end until 10:15pm and 7:30pm will give me more than enough time to get home to walk the pooch before dinner.

I have never tried cuban food but always up for a challenge. I hope it's spicy. Any reason to get FTers together is fine by me. Since I bring my dog to work with me, I have to drop him off at home(Glenview) or have my mother take him for a night. Where the place located?

Did someone say: "Cuban"??!!

Thursdays are pretty good for me, so long as its not terribly late (Perhaps that means I'll have to leave before Mr. D-Goat, really gets going!!)

Where is the Cuban one you're referring to SW??

Best wishes, Dave

Willie,

I am ready to eat. The 1st of May looks OK for me. Which do you want to do first? Korean or Cuban? I don't think my stomach could handle both in 1 night

If anyone else is interested, consider yourself invited.
