Borinquen

Borinquen is one of the most authentic Puerto Rican eateries in Chicago. Located in the Humboldt Park neighborhood (1720 N. California, near the North/California intersection), the restaurants specialty is The Jibarito sandwich, which features a choice of steak, roast pork, chicken, veggies, or ham with a generous helping of lettuce, cheese, tomato, mayo and mashed garlic sandwiched between two large pieces of fried plaintain. Great stuff. Altough the dining atmosphere is nothing to write home about, the food here is fantastic.
