Getting from ORD to McCormick Place
A bit off topic, but I'm flying to ORD tomorrow and need to know the best way to get to McCormick Conference Center.
Cab, Train, etc. Any suggestions ?
Flight back out at 9:00pm, so figure I'd have to leave the area by 7:00pm or, correct ?

In a perfect world, Chicago Transit Authority would connect McCormick place to the EL. But no.
If I were you, I'd take the Blue Line train (EL) from ORD to the Clark/Lake stop. From there I'd hail a cab to McCormick place. It's not the most economical route, but you do need to exercise a bit of street smarts around McCormick Place. It's not in a bad neighborhood itself, but an unknowing tourist could quickly get lost in areas which leave little to be desired.
A cab from Clark/Lake to MP should run about $7-$10 each way.
The train is your fastest link into the city, especially if you're arriving during the morning rush hour.
This may help you, too:

Since this is not UA-specific I am moving to the ORD forum in the FT Airports Board.
Please continue to follow it there.

I agree with United 959 that the "el" to a cab is probably your best bet. You could also check with the cab "starter" to see if there was anyone willing to share a cab to McCormick Place. The cabs run a special flate rate there if two people are willing to share a ride. However, that does require waiting around a while or asking people if there's anyone willing to share. Either way, give yourself an hour for this trip.
