PreCheck comes to GRR

TSA PreCheck is coming to GRR by year-end (no date announced). It will be for Terminal A (Delta) only, as Terminal B (currently) doesn't have the space for it.

Cheers.

Any idea when this will be or where I can check the progress? Wondering if I can pre-check for my late October itinerary.

Although they seem to be a few days behind the checkpoints actually opening.

Greg - the URL you provided doesn't show GRR for me. Does it for you?

Might be because it's not open yet?? The article I linked to in the first post just said by year-end but no date. That suggests to me that it will probably be closer to end of year, but that's just a guess.

On Greg's link I also checked by airline (since it's for Delta) & it's not listed there either.

Cheers.

Yeah, I was really hoping for some source or indication of the progress. Or a PreCheck eligible FF who flys through GRR that has a scoop on the progress...I'm probably dreaming & am will have to prepare for a long-ish security line for a Monday departure.

Thanks for your responses

I'll try to remember to ask when I pass through the DL checkpoint this week, although my 3 beeps hasn't prompted any comment to date. I'm looking forward to the day when they have a single security checkpoint with all the amenities (aka Bell's, Starbucks, Quiznos/Pizza Hut, etc) behind it.

PreCheck was open on Delta concourse this morning. I overheard one of the agents say that it wasn't open all the time, but did open at 5am (not sure when it closes). I was nice to bypass a line of 20+ people in the regular lane and zip on through.

Agreed. At least Bell's is at the airport now, but GRR needs to improve its amenity options post-security.

Thank you for the update, wizzy! Here's the MLive article. No mention of the hours. Silly government shutdown is preventing the TSA site from publishing the hours.

It wasn't open at 5:10am last Monday. They gave me a laminated postcard that let me leave my coat and shoes on, and use the metal detector, but still required me to take out my laptop and toiletries. I imagine that Concourse B does something like that all the time.

The precheck corridor was open at 9:30 last night when I came in but just funneled into the normal security checkpoint. I had wondered if they roped it off outside of normal hours, but no.

I had a trip on UA a few weeks ago out of Concourse B & PreCheck is available. I didn't even notice it on my boarding pass until the TSA agent sent me to the PreCheck lane. Also the hours for Sunday start earlier, as I had a 8:30am flight & pre-check was operational.

Cheers.
