Saw this board moved to the Midwest forums in Destinations from Frontier.

Guide to the Milwaukee Airport
Having a beer at the Millet bar outside security as I type this. Just thought I would share.

United and Air Canada have moved to E, using former Continental rotunda gates 62 and 63, plus formerly-vacant gate 61 which is in the stem.
C is now Southwest / AirTran plus American. The ultimate consolidate of AA and US is, of course, something for a future decision and announcement. |
They should of left this board over on the Frontier boards. Seems where they put it now in the Midwest board, no one is really talking. It had a great run before. Just bring it back there.

I agree on leaving it on the Frontier board. It took me awhile to find it, and now the Frontier board is a ghost town. But, so it goes.
Now, a little critique about DL in the D concourse: While the area is much nicer than E, it is extremely crowded and unwieldy. Flights from ATL, MSP and DTW come and go at about the same time, and are bunched at adjacent gates, causing extreme crowding around the end of the terminal. There was a lot more room in the E rotunda so, while crowded, did not feel stifling the way D does when planes show up from the three hubs. I also don't get the fascination with Nonas. Grabbed a sandwich the other day and it was awful. I also took the lower level moving walkway a couple of times. It looks nicer down there and is quicker than the upper level. While not used, the gates look like there is just no activity right now but a plane could come in at any moment. It does not give you the feel of the zombie gates upstairs. |
Is there any news about cleaning up the D concourse a bit. The old Midwest/Frontier podiums are still at the unused gates and are missing the monitors. The unused gates look bad, and it gives an abandoned look to the first part of the D concourse. I know that airport management was coming up with a plan to clean it up a bit, but I have not heard nor seen any movement by airport management on a plan.

It was a ghost town before the Midwest merger. It can return to its former self.
Albeit with huge higher costs left from Midwest contracts. |
It looks like my wish, from a couple of months ago, for improvements to the children's play areas will be granted. ^

I also don't get the fascination with Nonas. Grabbed a sandwich the other day and it was awful. Nona's was pretty good. But I'm guessing they lost a lot of good staff during the downtime. But sandwiches in the cooler was never their forte. Pizzas to go however were pretty good. |

We hade a very fast meal at Usingers on a different day and it was also very nice. The soup was good and the all beef hot dog was perfect (for a hot dog). |
I also grabbed the Italian sandwich on the go at Usingers. Lot better than the pre-mades at Nonas.
I have not had time to do a sitdown at Nona's yet. Hope it is better than the grab and go fare they put out. Don't know why it has to be so bad. It will be interesting to see what happens when the 753s return. |
